Nickelodeon World at the Mall of America

Giant Dora at Nickelodeon World at the Mall of America

Fabrication Highlights:

• 65 feet to the top of Dora's head • Entry portals
• Way-finding signage • Extensive graphics

When the Mall of America brought Nickelodeon Universe to life, they did in grand scale and style. Great Lakes Scenic Studios produced many of the key thematic elements including the signature 65 foot high Dora the Explorer facade on the Ferris wheel.

Planning, building and installing such a large piece of scenery had its' challenges. The team at Great Lakes was about to previsualize the build in the shop to ensure that on-site installation would run smoothly. Coordination with the other contractors during installation was also a critical success factor on this build.

Some of the other elements that were part of our build envelope were several entry portals. They fun multidimensional pieces that really popped given the lively coloured Nickelodeon characters that we all come to know so well. Way-finding and general signage as well as graphics installations rounded our Great Lakes involvement on this fun filled project. For some more images of this build, just scroll down below.

Holt Renfrew Square One Nail Bar

HR Nail Polish Bottle

We had the pleasure of parterning again with our long time client Holt Renfrew to produce massive oversized nail polish bottles for the grand opening of their newest store in Square One. Each piece was hand carved from styrofoam and finished in Holt Renfrew's glossy trademark magenta. Thia unit was over 7' tall by 4' wide and was showcased in their main atrium. When a client calls with a seemingly impossible request, we find a way to make it happen!
